This year, on ‘Amazon Day’, I decided to take advantage of the sale and buy a cheap metal detector. I’ve always wanted to try it.
Turns out… It’s pretty fun! Even if all I find is junk, it’s still a thrill to hear the beep and prove that there really was something down there by digging it up.
One of my Skitter patrons, Jasper, is a metal detecting expert. Living in the Netherlands, he digs up some really amazing (and old) stuff. I’ve been asking him for advice.
So far, my best finds are some 1970s pennies and a 70s dime that doesn’t have the nickel outer coating.
I’ll let you all know if I find something really interesting.
